Transportadora de Gas del Sur S.A. comenzó sus operaciones el 28 de diciembre de 1992, luego del proceso privatizador del sector energético argentino. Hoy, TGS brinda servicios integrados en materia de gas natural, desde la boca de pozo hasta los distribuidores y consumidores. Es la transportadora de gas más importante del país y la empresa líder en comercialización y procesamiento de líquidos de gas natural (LGN), brindando soluciones integrales en materia de gas natural ( midstream ) y en telecomunicaciones a través de la empresa Telcosur. Brindando servicios TGS transporta el 62% del gas consumido en la Argentina y abastece en forma directa a distribuidoras, generadoras eléctricas e industrias a través de un sistema de gasoductos de cerca de 8.000 km. de extensión que atraviesa siete provincias argentinas. Su capacidad de transporte firme de gas natural es de 71,8 MMm3/d, con una potencia instalada de 580.000 HP. Asimismo, TGS produce y comercializa LGN en el Complejo General Cerri, ubicado en Bahía Blanca, provincia de Buenos Aires, tanto para el mercado local como para el de exportación. A través de los servicios midstream, TGS brinda soluciones integrales en materia de gas natural desde boca de pozo hasta los sistemas de transporte. Lidera este segmento, tratando el 15% del gas producido en Argentina (12 MMm3/día) y realizando la operación y mantenimiento de más de 400 Km. de gasoductos. En 1998, TGS incursionó en el área de las telecomunicaciones, a través de su sociedad controlada Telcosur S.A., convirtiéndose en un importante carrier mayorista en su área de servicios.Mejora continua A fines del año 2001, la compañía obtuvo la recertificación de su Sistema de Gestión Ambiental bajo los estándares de la norma ISO 14.001 y la certificación de su Sistema de Gestión de Calidad, norma ISO 9.001. Ambas calificaciones ubicaron a TGS entre las principales compañías del sector regulado del gas que integraron los dos sistemas. Además, como parte de la mejora continua que TGS impulsa en su Política de Calidad, Medio Ambiente, Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional, la compañía logró en 2006 cumplir con los estándares requeridos para la certificación de OHSAS 18001 y recibió el documento acreditante en marzo de 2007.Programas comunitarios Como parte de su política de Responsabilidad Social, TGS emprende distintas acciones con el fin de mejorar la calidad de vida e impulsar la excelencia social en las comunidades con las que interactúa a diario. Algunas acciones se realizan a través de alianzas estratégicas con fundaciones, como Compromiso, Cimientos, Leer, Cruzada Patagónica, Tendiendo Puentes, e instituciones como Club de Leones, ITBA, entre otras. Otros proyectos surgen por la iniciativa de la gente de la compañía, a través del Programa de Voluntariado Corporativo, que nuclea a más de 90 empleados. Todas estas acciones intentan materializar que TGS tiene el compromiso continuo de contribuir al desarrollo sustentable, con la participación de sus grupos de interés, a fin de mejorar la calidad de vida de la sociedad en su conjunto TGS adhirió a la firma pública del Pacto Global y trabaja para la implementación de sus 10 principios, informando el grado de avance a través de la COP (Comunicación para el Progreso). Nowadays, TGS provides integrated services related to natural gas, from well mouth to gas distributors and consumers. It is the most important gas transportation firm in the country, and the leading one in commercialization and processing of liquefied natural gas (LNG), contributing comprehensive solutions in natural gas provision (midstream services), and in telecommunications through Telcosur. Service provision TGS transports 62% of gas consumed in Argentina and directly supplies distribution companies, power generation companies and industries through a gas pipeline system nearly 8,000 km long, crossing seven Argentine provinces. Its gas firm transportation capacity is 71.8 MMm3/d, with 580,000 HP installed power. Likewise, TGS produces and markets LNG in Complejo General Cerri, located in Bahía Blanca, in the province of Buenos Aires, both for the domestic and for the export market. In 1998 TGS entered the telecommunications business through its controlled company Telcosur S.A., thus becoming an important wholesale carrier in its service area.Continuous improvement By late 2001, the company received the re-certification of its Environmental Management System under ISO 14001 standards, as well as the certification of its Quality Management System, under ISO 9001. Both ratings positioned TGS among the main companies having integrated both systems in the gas regulated sector. Additionally, as part of continuous improvement fostered by TGS in its Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policy, in 2006 the company achieved the required standards for OHSAS 18001 certification and received the pertinent qualifying document in March 2007.Community programs As part of its Social Accountability policy, TGS undertakes diffe-rent actions with the purpose of improving quality of life and encourage social excellence in the communities it daily serves and interacts with. Some actions are carried out through strategic alliances with foundations, such as Compromiso, Cimientos, Leer, Cruzada. Patagónica, Tendiendo Puentes, and institutions including Club de Leones, ITBA, among others. Other projects arise from the initiative of the company’s people, through the Corporate Volunteer Program, with over 90 employees. Jorge Casagrande es contador público, egresado de la Universidad Católica Argentina, con una maestría en Administración de Mercados Eléctricos otorgada por el Instituto Tecnológico Buenos Aires (ITBA), y egresado del Programa de Desarrollo Directivo del IAE.
Casagrande tiene una larga trayectoria vinculada al negocio energético.
Entre 2001 y 2006, se desempeñó como Gerente de Activos de Gas y Energía en Perez Companc y posteriormente en Petrobras Energía.
En igual período fue miembro titular de los directorios de Transener, Edesur y Compañía Mega.
En TGS, Jorge Casagrande fue miembro titular del directorio desde 2002 y entre enero y marzo de 2006 fue Presidente del Directorio. |
 Jorge Casagrande is a public accountant graduated from the Argentine Catholic University, with a Master’s Degree in Administration of Electric Markets awarded by the Buenos Aires Technological Institute (ITBA, for its Spanish acronym), and has graduated from the Program of Executive Development of IAE.
Casagrande has been working in the energy business for a long time.
Between 2001 and 2006 he was the Manager of Gas and Power Assets in Pérez Companc and later in Petrobras Energia. In the same period he was full member of the Board of Directors of Transener, Edesur and Compañía Mega.
In TGS, Jorge Casagrande was full member of the Board since 2002, and Chairman of this body between January and March 2006. |
